With the launch of Kia’s first battery electric vehicle (BEV) set for the end of 2014, the Korean auto-manufacturer has begun to install high powered rapid charging units (100kW) at dealerships across Europe.

The first Kia rapid charging points have been installed this month at their European headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany.

Kia Motors Europe plans to expand its network of EV charging stations across all Soul EV retailers and sales headquarters throughout Europe, allowing drivers to access to almost 400 charging stations.

The high-capacity, 100kW units are fitted with a tethered CHAdeMO connector cable and can supply an empty to 80% charge to a Kia Soul EV in just 25 minutes.
